La Estrella
When asked to imagine the most romantic place on earth, most would think of Paris. However, tucked away in the Spanish mountainside, lies a place far more intimate. La Estrella is a village that holds a great love story, starring its only two residents, Sinforosa and Juan Martin Colomer. Were it not for their love, this village would cease to exist. What’s more romantic than that?
Dropped in the romance section of a bookstore for hopeless romantics to find, these two books — each telling only half of their love story — will lead two strangers to finding their other half.
The two books are created from transcribed letters, retelling the story of how they met and interweaving descriptions of the land — each written from one of their perspectives. At the end of either book, directions on how to get there are revealed. Both readers will be invited to take a chance on finding their other half by visiting La Estrella on March 21st, the day Juan and Sinforosa met.
La Estrella will be hidden from Google Maps, so that no one looking for love will be able to find it. Only two people will get to experience their story.
Every year on March 21st, the town will reappear on Google Maps to share one of the great hidden love stories of our time.
